Abstract

Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) was a famous Austrian thinker. He was instrumental in laying the foundations for the development of psychoanalysis. By mapping out the way to perceive the unconscious, and at the same time deeply studying dreams and the secrets hidden deep inside people, his epistemology in psychoanalysis has overcome the limitations of the extreme rationality approach about man, human nature. The article analyzes the epistemological aspect of psychoanalysis of S. Freud, gives some assessment of its contribution as well as its limitations in order to understand more deeply and comprehensively about his view on psychoanalysis.
