Abstract

Minh Khanh is an old and famous pagoda in Thanh Ha town, Hai Duong province. The pagoda was built in the Ly Dynasty, underwent many restorations and was recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Relic in 1990. Currently, the pagoda still preserves 49 Han Nom documents, including 34 documents (respectively 69%) related to Buddha Emperor Tran Nhan Tong. Through the content of these documents, the article investigates the relationship between Minh Khanh pagoda and Tran Nhan Tong. Thereby contributing to clarifying the ordination process of Tran Nhan Tong and shows the devotion and respect of people to the Buddha Emperor.
