In the second half of the nineteenth century, Western science and technology in some fields were strongly imported into Vietnam. The process has affected the traditional fields of Vietnam; on the other hand, many new fields and professions have begun to appear, and at the same time, they are also being applied to real life. The article is to deal with the process of introduction and acculturation between traditional and modern science, between Eastern and Western science and technology, in the last decades of the 19th century in Vietnam.
