GENDER IN SOCIO-CULTURAL INTEGRATION (A Case Study Among the Cham Muslim Migrants in An Giang Moving to Ho Chi Minh City)

Abstract

Based mainly on the quantitative and qualitative survey data conducted in 2022 in Tan Phu Trung commune, Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City, the article analyzed gender aspects of socio-cultural integration among Cham Muslims from An Giang who migrated to HCMC. In generally, the Cham Muslim migrants have not really integrated well in terms of culture and society in Ho Chi Minh City. However, a part of young people working as workers have adapted to the new environment and gradually integrated better into the socio-cultural field, with males integrating more effectively than women.
