POLICY FOR SUPPORTING SALT PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION OF SALT PRODUCERS IN CAN GIO, HO CHI MINH CITY

Abstract

The State has published a set of policies to promote salt production in order to concretize views and policies on the development of salt production, as well as to stabilise and improve the lives of salt farmers. In order to implement these policies, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Gio district have focused on investing in salt production infrastructure, deploying models of science and technology application in salt production, deploying policies to support interest rates on production loans, support for salt production tools, and support for salt consumption for salt farmers over the years. The article analyses the current status of the above policies' implementation in Can Gio and proposes some policy proposals to support salt production and consumption of salt farmers in the future, such as strengthening value chain linkages in salt production, registration of geographical indications for Can Gio salt products...
