VIETNAM'S TRADE SITUATION IN THE NGUYEN DYNASTY (1802-1840)

Abstract

Through primary historical sources such as Dai Nam Thuc Luc, Imperial Records of Nguyen Dynasty, History of the Southern Region, and records pertaining to Vietnam's economy and trade, gives an analysis of trading and exchange operations in Vietnam, the subject of inquiry is to the commodities exchanged by domestic and international merchants, the trade regulations implemented during the Nguyen Dynasty, and the challenges encountered in tax collection throughout the era spanning from 1802 to 1840.
