ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES OF CHAM MUSLIMS IN TAN CHAU TOWN, AN GIANG PROVINCE - PAST AND PRESENT

Abstract

Cham people residing in Tan Chau town, An Giang province, adhere to the Islamic religion and consider the Qur’an as their guiding principle in life. However, during the process of integration, the Cham people have assimilated and integrated. Based on the analysis of gathered documents and survey data, it is evident that Cham Muslims residing in Tan Chau town, An Giang province, are presently engaged in contemporary economic endeavours alongside their conventional economic pursuits. Notably, Cham women have displayed considerable dedication in generating income for their households, a role that was traditionally assigned to men.
