Abstract

Excavation results at site 36 Điện Biên Phủ Street had discovered 8 relics, including 4 relics of the Early Lê dynasty (in the 15th-16th centuries) and 4 relics of the Lê Trung hưng (Restored Lê dynasty) (in the 17th-18th centuries), all of them belong to 2 types: architectural foundation and wall foundation of the Forbidden City. The discoveries in the central of Thăng Long Imperial Citadel and site 18 Hoàng Diệu have made an important contribution to identify the scene of Kính Thiên palace during the Lê dynasty in the 15th-18th centuries. Through research and analysis, vestiges related to the Forbidden City have shown the scale and structure of Kính Thiên palace in the Lê dynasty compared with the capitals of other monarchies in the East Asia. That provides more valid scientific evidences towards the reconstruction of Kính Thiên palace.
