Abstract

The article studies the situation of building and developing a contingent of intellectuals for industrialization and modernization in Kiên Giang province. The results show that, over the years, the pool of Kiên Giang's intelligentsia has constantly increased its quantity, improved its quality focusing on education and training, medicine and pharmacy, economics and agriculture. However, the context of gradually deepening and comprehensive international integration as well as the requirements of the process of industrialization and modernization are posing new challenges and requirements for the intelligentsia of Kiên Giang province. The article also proposes a number of solutions to continue building and developing the pool of intelligentsia for industrialization and modernization of Kiên Giang province in the current phase.
