Abstract

Academic integrity can be considered as a core ethical principle in the scientific research and educational environment, being closely associated with ethics in science. Academic integrity is characterized by honesty, rigor, transparency, respect and responsibility. In many countries around the world, academic integrity has long been featured in universities, research institutes and scientific research organizations. Therefore, students have learned how to avoid plagiarism, forgery, falsification of data, as well as buying scientific documents. In Vietnam, survey results show that the level of fraud in the educational environment is relatively high, and violations of research ethics are still a serious problem. Although there are some regulations on plagiarism, dealing with cheating, falsification and fabrication of information, there is no system of specific regulations on academic integrity. Besides, measures to implement academic integrity have not been featured in education or scientific research yet.
