Abstract

The Chinese migrated to Đàng Trong (Conchichina) very early. From the beginning of the 17th century, Chinese merchants were present in Hội An, establishing a bustling neighborhood. Along with the change in world trade routes and the political crisis in China at the end of the 17th century, more and more Chinese residents migrated to other countries. To be able to adapt and develop in new lands, the Chinese people established social organizations to support and protect each other based on the consent and recognition of the host government. Chinese social organizations in Đàng Trong such as Bang, Hội, xã not only help the Chinese community have a common organization in doing business and a place to preserve traditional culture, but these organizations also contribute effectively to Đàng Trong government in managing Chinese people, traders from other countries and economic development.
