Abstract

Lao Tzu, an outstanding ancient Chinese philosopher, is credited with founding the philosophical school of Taoism. In his work, “Dao De Jing”, Lao expounded profound philosophical ideas about nature, ethics, and human life. Across epochs, his philosophical views have continued to deeply influence the lives of people in China and East Asian countries, including Vietnam. This article focuses on exploring Lao Tzu's ethical philosophy and the way it guides individuals in applying these principles to cultivate inner virtue, refine character, and achieve personal peace and happiness within family and society. These virtues encompass living in harmony with nature, fostering harmony with one's surroundings, and nurturing a compassionate heart. Thus, the article underscores the enduring value of Lao's ethical philosophy over time.
