Abstract
The article analyzes indicators to evaluate the level of industry cluster linkage of timber processing industry in the Northern midlands and mountainous region of Vietnam using the method of evaluating the Location Quotient (LQ) index from the perspective of added value. The research team used data extracted from the statistical yearbook on the added value of enterprises related to timber processing industry in 14 provinces in the region. According to research, provinces such as Bắc Kạn, Tuyên Quang, Yên Bái, Lạng Sơn, Bắc Giang, Phú Thọ and Hoà Bình have full competitive advantages to develop the industry. The research team opines that, to increase the linkage in industry clusters, localities need to focus on developing high-quality human resources and actively promote trade to help local businesses maximize revenue and optimize input costs thanks to abundant supply and taking initiative in output.
