Abstract
The development of coastal economic zones (CEZs) is a policy that has significantly contributed to economic growth, promoting the economic and social development of coastal localities while spreading benefits to other regions/areas. By using primary and secondary research methods, this article analyzes the current policies and mechanisms for developing CEZ infrastructure in Vietnam in recent years. In general, many policies and mechanisms have been promulgated and implemented to develop CEZ infrastructure; however, there are still shortcomings, especially those related to attracting non-state resources, allocating state budgets, and decentralization and delegation among state agencies. Based on that, the article offers several suggestions for policy adjustments to help develop CEZ infrastructure in a more sustainable manner in the future.
