Abstract
Since the end of the Cold War, changes in the context have led to changes in the typical relationship models between countries, including the six models of harmony, coordination, cooperation, competition, indirect conflict and war. From the lens of realism, the nature of relations between great powers is fundamentally governed by the relationship of competition. But their relationships do not operate in a model of purely competition but in a model of mixture of cooperation, confrontation, and conflict. Based on a comparison of the characteristics of the US-Russia relations after 2017 with the characteristics of the six typical relationship models, the article proves that the US-Russia relationship is undergoing major changes. First of all, the US-Russia relationship changed from a relationship model of cooperation and competition mixed to one of competition, leaning towards confrontation after the year, and then completely shifted to one of confrontation, leaning towards war after 2022.
