Abstract

The Thăng Long royal palace site, with its extensive excavation scope, has uncovered various types of artifacts that reflect many aspects of life, culture, and society in the ancient Thăng Long royal palace. Metal artifacts are among those discovered, including a collection of bronze locks. In East Asian folk culture in general, particularly in Chinese, locks hold significant importance, with a long history closely tied to traditional cultural practices. In Vietnam, there appears to be a lack of comprehensive studies on this type of artifact. The paper provides an initial synthesis and identification of the quantity and structural forms, suggesting potential avenues for more detailed future research.
