Evaluation of some risk factors associated with the incidence of lumpy skin disease in cattle in Tien Giang province

Abstract

Evaluation of some risk factors related to the incidence of nodular dermatitis in cattle raising households was carried out from August to December 2023 in districts of Tien Giang province aimed at assisting in LSD prevention. The risk factors for disease transmission through vectors included insects (flies, mosquitoes, ticks), insecticidal conditions, and anti-insect materials. In addition, risk factors for non-vector-mediated transmission of LSD, such as: geographical location of livestock farms, human factors, hygiene and antiseptic factors and vaccination affecting the infection rate of cattle with LSD in Tien Giang province were also determined.
