The prevalence of Leptospira in rats collected from Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province

Abstract

In this study, we applied cross-sectional method to investigate the infection rate and prevalence of Leptospira spp. serovars in rats in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province. A total of 246 blood samples collecting from rats in Hoa Phu, Cu Ebur communes and Ea Tam ward were tested by microscopic agglutination test (MAT). The studied results showed that the prevalence of Leptospira spp. in rats in Buon Ma Thuot city in 2021 was 35.4%. There were 24 leptospira serovars in rats with different prevalence; in which Hustbridge serovar accounted for
the highest proportion (11.83%).
