Abstract

Sharing economy is a new business model, utilizing technological development to economize on transaction costs. The wave of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the boom of digital technology have been evaluated as a major chance for Vietnam to push the growth of sharing economy. Nevertheless, despite the rapid growth, the legal framework of this new economic model still has lots of loopholes, posing challenges to public administration and to policies and mechanisms of supporting the development of relevant enterprises. This paper generally illustrates some issues concerning the collaborative economy, evaluation of shortcomings of current policies and mechanisms, as well as proposals to urge the growth of this economy in Vietnam.
