Abstract

In the context of digital communication and the Internet, fakenews propagates rapidly, across multiple platforms and with a wide reach, causing profound damage and eroding societal trust. However, fakenews is not an entirely novel issue. The concept encompasses and unavoidably intertwines with long-standing biases inherent in communication. Fakenews essentially represents an age-old narrative bolstered by new technology and flourishing within the online environment. Media organizations and individuals have endeavored to counter fakenews through various means, encompassing both technical and human-centric approaches. Developing communication programs ought to be designed to shape and cultivate anti-disinformation skills, establishing a robust foundation for the future career development of communication professionals. These programs aim to equip individuals within the field with the tools necessary to combat disinformation, thereby fortifying a resilient groundwork for the future of the communication industry.
