Abstract

synthesised LiAlO2 was studied for its structure and morphology by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques. The thermoluminescence glow curve of LiAlO2 was analysed by deconvolution using the first-order, second-order, and general-order kinetic models. LiAlO2 material exhibits a single-phase gamma structure when calcined at temperatures starting from 900oC. The thermoluminescence glow curve of LiAlO2 consists of two peaks at 136 and 248oC, while peak 248oC is considered a dosimetric peak. The γ-LiAlO2 material was successfully synthesised using the sol-gel method combined with EDTA. The single-phase gamma LiAlO2 material was obtained after being sintered at temperatures greater than 900°C for 4 hours with lattice constants and density determined as follows: a=5.16870 Å, c=6.26790 Å, and δ=2.615 g/cm³. The thermoluminescence glow curve of LiAlO2 was analysed using the glow curve deconvolution method, which showed the best fit with the general-order model, with a fitting factor FOM=1.08×10-2 and a kinetic order b=1.79.
