Abstract

Digital transformation in agriculture is becoming a global trend in the boom of the 4.0 industrial revolution. This article analyses the status of digital transformation in agricultural production, focusing on two subsectors: crop and livestock, thereby proposing some solutions to promote digital transformation in agriculture in Thai Binh province. The research results show that Thai Binh province has achieved numerous positive outcomes in applying digital
technologies to agricultural production. The database system of the crop and livestock has been digitalised, many digital technology application models have been deployed in small households and large farms, such as drones used for fertilising, sowing seeds, spraying pesticides, smart irrigation technology and sensor applications for crops and livestock monitoring... However, limitations in production scale, lack of financial resources, delays in policy implementation and awareness of farmers are major barriers to the digital transformation of agricultural production. Therefore, Thai Binh province should synchronously implement solutions such as enhancing institutional policies on digital transformation in agriculture; providing training on knowledge and skills in digital agriculture for farmers.
