Abstract

On January 7, 2022, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment issued Circular 01/2022/ TT-BTNMT on assessing the impact of climate change on industries and fields. Accordingly, assessing the impact of climate change is determining the level of positive and negative effects; vulnerability, risks and losses and damages due to climate change to natural, economic and social systems. Among them, assessing the impact of flooding is important and necessary. This paper presents a method for calculating the risk due to Inundation based on choosing indicators and determining 3 major components: hazard (H), exposure (E), vulnerability (V), proposed by IPCC. The method was applied to Da Nang city for current condition and the basis for choosing suitable mitigation measures.
