Abstract

Hanoi’s dense network of lakes creates the city's typical landscape and contributes significantly to climate regulation. However, these lakes are in a serious state of pollution. To contribute to reducing environmental pollution, this study was conducted to research on treating Trieu Khuc lake water with the effective microorganisms Sagi Bio 2. The use of biological methods will limit negative impacts on humans and the environment compared to conventional chemical ones. The study carried out sampling and experimenting in a laboratory scale. Analysis results show that the lake water was polluted: COD value exceeded the standard by 8.3 - 8.7 folds, NH4+ concentration was 1.1 folds higher. The pH value and NO3-, PO43- concentrations were all within the allowable limits. The treatment efficiencies were quite high: COD value reduced by about 80 - 90%; NH4+ decreased by 50%, NO3- decreased by 65% and PO43- decreased slightly but all met the standards.
