PRESERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF RARE MEDICINAL PLANTS FROM POTENTIALS, ADVANTAGES TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN MINORITY ETHNIC AREA IN KON TUM PROVINCE

Abstract

In Kon Tum province, there are currently about 853 kinds of
medicinal plants and medicinal mushrooms, of which 35 kinds
belong to 27 rare plants that need to be preserved, 30 kinds of
medicinal plants are in great demand for the market and about
25 kinds of medicinal plants are grown with high economic and
therapeutic value. Over the years, the province has determined
to preserve and develop rare medicinal plants from available
potentials and advantages as a suitable direction towards the
sustainable development of ethnic minority areas in the province.
Therefore, in the development process, the province has
established key medicinal development areas in 03 districts, at the
same time orienting key medicinal herbs of each locality to focus
on synchronous development.
The article analyzes the current situation of the conservation and
development of medicinal plants in Kon Tum province, predicting
economic value and proposes some solutions to overcome barriers
in the development of medicinal plants, in order to contribute a
voice for the preservation and development of medicinal plants
from the available potentials and advantages of this area.
