THE SITUATION OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINOUS BORDER AREA OF VIETNAM

Abstract

Economic development in the Northern mountainous border ethnic minority area is one of the issues that the Party and State always pay attention and focus on. This is not only to take care of and
improve the lives of the people better, but also to build a fair, democratic, civilized and happy society;
ensure the security and defense of our country. In order to realize this great goal, in the past years, in
addition to common development policies, the Party and State have made many major decisions and
guidelines on socio-economic development, security assurance - national defense in mountainous areas
and ethnic minorities. As a result, the development of the Northern mountainous border ethnic minority
area has obtained important achievements in all aspects, gradually stabilizing and improving people’s
lives, significantly contributing to the national development, the success of hunger eradication and poverty
reduction. Therefore, it is necessary to study the economic situation of the border area and propose some
solutions to enhance sustainable economic development in this area to be essential.
