COAST - BORDER AREA: THE MÓNG CÁI PORT TOWN VIA
SINO-VIETNMESE AND ETHNOGRAPHIC DOCUMENTS
Móng Cái city of Quảng Ninh province where has the advantage of being both a coastal and a border region, so actually its development is ranked high in Vietnam. Historically, this area has been formed as a port town very early. My paper will focus on presenting the formation and development of Móng Cái - Trà Cổ area based on historical, archaeological and ethnographic documents. About applying the view for Studied Area and the River - Coastal exchange network model to contemplate its role on the maritime road that is along the offshore islands connecting Chinese mainland and the waters of Southeast Asian countries.
