This article studies the characteristics of initial consonants in Thai language in Thanh Lam commune, Thanh Hoa province. Through this study, the article shows the number and characteristics of initial consonants in Thai language in Thanh Lam as well as their distinguishing criteria. Thereby, the article also shows the main trend in using parts to create sounds in the speech of Thai people in Thanh Lam commune, Thanh Hoa province.
