Abstract

Abstract: The 2023 Law on Cooperatives marks a significant shift in the legal
regulation of cooperatives in Vietnam, including important changes to the provisions on
cooperative members. In this article, the author analyses a number of provisions of the
current Law on Cooperatives concerning cooperative membership. On that basis, the
author identifies shortcomings in the Vietnamese legal framework and proposes several
solutions to improve the regulation of cooperative members.
