Abstract

Abstract: Through methods of law analysis, historical approach, comparative legal
studies, and case study, the article points out the shortcomings of the current legislation
in relation to the concept and nature of usufruct rights, the subject matter of usufruct
rights, method of establishing usufruct rights, grounds for establishment of usufruct
rights and their legal consequences, duration, and termination of usufruct rights. Based
on such findings, the author discusses and makes directive recommendations to
strengthen the institution of usufruct rights in the Vietnamese law.
