Abstract

Abstract: The article analyses the application of UNCLOS 1982 in responding to
climate change and assesses its specific implications for Vietnam. On that basis, it
comments on the development trends of UNCLOS in the context of increasingly complex
climate change and offers concrete recommendations for Vietnam to strengthen its role
in protecting marine resources and responding to climate-related challenges. These
proposals are intended not only to help Vietnam safeguard its national interests but also
to contribute to the implementation of international commitments on marine
environmental protection, in line with the core values of UNCLOS 1982.
