Roles of publishing and presses towards literary evolution during economic transitions in the “doi moi” era

Abstract

Sociologically, the press and publishing play an important role in the evolution of literature. Our paper aims at these relationships in the perspective of the change in the political economy of Vietnam at the time of Đổi Mới, Renewal. It is about the correspondences between political, economic and literary pragmatics: from neo-physiocracy to economy, from unitary thought to multiple and fragmentary, from the role of the State to individual autonomy, from political power to economic force. Social changes correspond to the literary emergences of the subject, genre and themes.
