Abstract

Writing descriptive text is an activity that produces highly creative language because the results of this activity are artistic texts. To write a descriptive essay, students need to have knowledge and understanding of the subject. However, in practice, students lack living capital and materials to write. Students do not have life skills and lack understanding about the scenery, people, and events happening around them, making it difficult for them to write descriptive texts. Students' living capital is acquired mainly through practical experience activities. Therefore, increasing experiential activities for 5th grade students will have an impact on the quality of teaching descriptive writing. In the framework of this article, we introduce some basic concepts; The role of teaching descriptive writing to 5th grade students through experiential activities; Proposal to organize teaching descriptive writing for 5th grade students through experiential activities.
