CONCEPTUAL METAPHOR OF HUMANITY IN THE NOM POETIC STORY THACH SANH

Abstract

Conceptual metaphor is one of the central research issues of cognitive semantics. In the 21st century, in Vietnam, researching this issue has become a trend. In this article, we present some issues about conceptual metaphor theory, statistics and analysis of conceptual metaphors about human in the Nom poetic story Thach Sanh. To achieve the research purpose, we use a combination of research methods such as comparative method, descriptive method, introspection method, and MIP method. The research results demonstrate theoretical and practical significance. Regarding theory, the article contribute to strengthens the theory of Cognitive Linguistics, contributing to creating a premise for the study of conceptual metaphors in anonymous Nom poetic story. In practice, the article can become a reference for language research and teaching.
