Some thoughts on teaching poetry according to genre characteristics (a case of teaching poems “Tiếng Việt” by Luu Quang Vu and “Mưa Xuân” by Nguyen Binh)

Abstract
The 2018 Literature curriculum for high school mainly focus on teaching literary texts by genre. In this article, we present our views on teaching modern poetry. Genre is a quite complex subject. Therefore, when designing lectures, it is necessary to comply with the requirements of the lesson, choose and create flexible lesson structures according to the characteristics of the genre in general and specific expression of each lesson. Teaching poetry follows to special genres requires open minded, flexibility and not imposed genre knowledge into "formulas".
