Children with autism spectrum disorder often have difficulty in developing spatial perception - an important factor that helps children recognize and interact with their surroundings. These difficulties make it difficult for children to determine their own position as well as the other objects in space, causing collisions when moving, difficulty maintaining appropriate distance when communicating, and negatively affecting learning as well as social activities. The article focuses on the development of spatial perception in 5-6 year old children with autism spectrum disorder and factors affecting the process of educating children about spatial perception. Factors include the child's personal characteristics, the role of teachers and schools, the content of the educational program, the awareness and attitudes of parents, and the conditions of the educational environment. The research results show that appropriate educational measures, using visual tools, games and modern technology are needed to support children in developing better spatial perception.
