Education of Vietnamese cultural values in teaching Liturature reading comprehension of the General Education Program 2018

Abstract
General Education Program 2018 adopts a fundamental change from teaching content to developing learners’ ability and quality. Therefore, the teachers develop the learners’ subject-based personal abilities and also the 21th century citizens’ necessary qualities during the teaching process. One of the most important the learners must have is the ability to adapt themselves to changes/requirements of the real world, especially the fast changes in cultural values/national and human identity. To such requirements, education of the cultural values in teaching Literature plays an important part to, achieve the subject’s objectives and the students’ ability to apply the knowledge to their real life; then, nurturing their necessary abilities and qualities. Based on the general requirements of the Literature Program 2018, this paper identifies the subjects of core cultural values education in order to propose a cultural values edcuation model/teaching project through reading comprehension at Junior High School and High School Levels.
