Abstract
This study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative research techniques, to investigate the factors influencing creativity in applied scientific research among lecturers and students at the Faculty of Culture and Tourism, Hanoi Metropolitan University. This research aims to explore the factors affecting applied scientific research activities and to suggest solutions to enhance research effectiveness at the faculty. Based on the findings, the study proposes three strategic recommendations to enhance creativity in applied research at the faculty: 1) Refining the management and evaluation mechanisms for scientific research, 2) Increasing investment in research resources, and 3) Strengthening the capacity and motivation of the research team. The research was conducted through an online survey, which collected 221 valid responses. The survey data was then analyzed using Stata software. The results indicated that all four of the study's hypotheses were supported, with the factor of "Task Motivation" emerging as the strongest predictor of research creativity among the participants. This multifaceted investigation provides valuable insights to inform policy and practice aimed at cultivating a more innovative research culture within the Faculty of Culture and Tourism at Hanoi Metropolitan University.
