Abstract
This study focuses on interpreting the detective characteristics in Michel Bussi’s The Cursed Treasure in terms of plot, characters, and techniques that enhance the detective effect. The research findings show that the plot and characters are cleverly constructed, closely adhering to the characteristics of the detective genre. The techniques of delay, ambiguity, and misdirection are fully exploited by Bussi to open up the text, stimulating readers to explore, investigate, and decode. Bussi successfully creates an intriguing and captivating case, while subtly prompting readers to reflect on various issues in social life.
