Pedagogical nature in approaching children's literature from the perspective of ecological criticism

Abstract
From the theoretical perspective of ecological criticism, this paper analyzes the pedagogical nature - a characteristic of this approach - toward children's literature in Vietnam and worldwide. The study highlights research emphasizing the role of children's literature in developing ecological awareness and fostering “ecological citizens”. Additionally, it discusses the global trend of integrating ecological criticism into education for sustainable development, particularly in teacher training. Through this analysis, the paper affirms the role of children's literature in contributing to the sustainability of present and future communities.
