THE AWARENESS OF STEAM EDUCATION AMONG PRESCHOOL TEACHERS IN CHIEM HOA DISTRICT, TUYEN QUANG PROVINCE

Abstract

   STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education for preschoolers is an integrated approach that brings efficiency and suitability. It stimulates curiosity, creativity, and practical problem-solving skills through practical activities and experiences that are meaningful and relevant to children's surroundings. In organizing STEAM educational activities for preschoolers, the first and foremost important factor is the awareness of preschool teachers. This study analyzed and presented the results of the awareness and skills of preschool teachers through online surveys conducted in Chiêm Hoá, Tuyên Quang before (405) and after (446) participating in a 4-day training course on "Designing and organizing STEAM educational activities for preschoolers," organized and sponsored by non-governmental organization CWS, and provided suggestions on the organizational structure of STEAM education activities for preschoolers according to the 5E process. The results showed that after participating in the training course, preschool teachers in Chiêm Hoá - Tuyên Quang have increased their awareness and confidence in organizing STEAM education activities for preschoolers.
