THE WARTIME AND POST-WAR LANDSCAPE IN LÊ MINH KHUÊ'S NHIỆT ĐỚI GIÓ MÙA

Abstract

Landscape functions as a crucial element in literary works. Research on landscape in literature has been developing in recent years. This study conducts an in-depth analysis of the transitions from wartime to post-war landscape in a representative short story with a distinctive structure and character development: Nhiệt đới gió mùa by Lê Minh Khuê. The research will also focus on examining noteworthy aspects of landscape poetics in this short story to discern the author's distinctive approach when depicting landscapes from two different historical periods. Concurrently, the study will embark on exploring the issues embedded within these historical landscape. Through this research, we will highlight the intricate relationship between landscape and socio-historical context in Lê Minh Khuê's work, reflecting both the world she creates and her distinct artistic approach.
