IMPLEMENTATION OF LAW ON ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION OF CRAFT VILLAGES IN HOAI DUC DISTRICT, HANOI

Abstract

Hoai Duc, a district with a very fast urbanizating speed and strong development of craft villages, contributes to create stable jobs for people, create budget revenue, develop socio-economic grouth and build a modern agriculture for the locality. However,
along with that development, there is also the problem of environmental pollution which increases pressure from the activities of craft villages on the ecological environment seriously affecting the living environment and health of the people. The environment of
craft villages in Hoai Duc district is facing a number of problems such as water pollution, air pollution, solid waste pollution. Seeing that reality the local government has implemented, applied and enforced environmental protection laws in craft villages in order
to control pollution, administratively handle violations causing pollution. Besides the achieved results, the enforcement of the law on environmental protection in Hoai Duc district is still inadequate and has not achieved the desired results. The reason is that the management, inspection and work sanctioning are loose and not deterrent and many provisions in the law are still general and have not gone deep into local reality. On that basis, the article proposes solutions to enforce the law on environmental protection of craft
villages in Hoai Duc district, Hanoi
