Abstract

Impromptu speaking is a skill that many foreign language learners are hard to acquire. It causes a lot of anxiety for a presenter because it requires talking about a complete topic without or with little preparation time. In fact, this skill not only helps learners practice responding quickly but also develops communication skills for learners, increasing their confidence when speaking in front of a crowd. The article presents the opinions of second-year English majored students about the impromptu speaking activities used in the Business English module. From what students have achieved and outstanding problems, the author of the article proposes some suggestions to help improve this teaching and learning activity in class.
