Abstract

The paper analyzes the current status of land tenure regimes in the world, pointing out the significant challenges facing countries in this issue. In addition, the article also generalizes the development of the land tenure regimes in Vietnam's history, delving into the current public/state tenure regime applied in the country. The author proves that, like many other countries, Vietnam has applied many land tenure regimes in history. The current public/state tenure regime is determined to suit Vietnam's specific conditions and circumstances. It has a new nuance, not as rigid as in the public/state tenure regime of former socialist countries, but approaching the general trend in the world, which is to expand and ensure the rights of land users to promote the country's development.
