Abstract

The rapid rise of digital technology has led to an explosion of digital currencies, creating unprecedented opportunities and challenges for legal systems and the global economy. Digital currencies, with their ability to provide a new form of transaction, an advanced payment method, and a potential asset class, are increasingly being adopted worldwide. In Vietnam, the incomplete legal framework for digital currencies has posed significant difficulties for regulatory authorities and related entities. This article examines the current legal regulations on digital currencies in Vietnam, identifies existing shortcomings and legal loopholes, and, based on that analysis, proposes solutions to improve the legal framework. The aim is to protect investors, foster technological development, and ensure the stability of the national financial system.
