Abstract
The biodegradability of dishwashing liquid not only ensures safety for users but also plays an important role in environmental protection and sustainable development. Biodegradability refers to the ability of substances in dishwashing liquid to be broken down by natural microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, etc.) into simple compounds such as water (H₂O) and CO₂. Safe for consumers, products with high biodegradability often meet environmental safety certifications. To determine the biodegradability of surfactants, the molecular absorption spectroscopy method is used. The content of anionic surfactants before and after degradation is determined by measuring the maximum absorption of its complex with methylene blue after extraction with chloroform at a wavelength of λ = 650 nm. Based on the calibration curve, the biodegradability of surfactants in detergents is calculated.
