A research on improving the provincial competitiveness index (PCI) of Phu Yen Province

Abstract

Phu Yen province, located in the Southern Central Vietnam, with a lot of potential for economic development and foreign investment attraction, has a favorable geographical position on the main North-South transport axis. The province has a long coastline with many lagoons and bays facilitating the economic development in the sea, land resources and abundant labor. However, the business environment and competitiveness of the province still need much improvement. This article is based on the research report on the provincial competitiveness index (PCI), with the author’s in-depth analysis of the index components, together with some solutions to improve the PCI of Phu Yen province in the next coming years.
