Evaluating water quality in the coastal area of Phu Yen by using GEF/UNDP/IMO rapid evaluating method

Abstract

The coastal area of Phu Yen is a place where many activities of industry, trade, aquaculture, tourism services have been carried out... It is the economic development center of the province now and in the future. However, the results show that in some places on the surface of the water there have appeared signs of pollution with nutrients and organic substances. Attention should be paid to the quality of the underground water as well as the AS indicators at several monitoring locations. For the coastal water, there have been polluted signs of Mn and As agents. Such a situation requires many urgent solutions to protect the water quality in the coastal area of Phu Yen to serve for its sustainable development.
