A research on morphological and anatomical characteristics of Dalbergia annamensis (Dalbergia annamensis A.Chev.) at Da Ban spring area, Phu Yen province

Abstract

            Dalbergia annamensis (Dalbergia annamensis A. Chev.) at Da Ban Spring area, Phu Yen province, is a species of the genus Dalbergia L. It belongs to the Fabaceae family, which is an endemic in  Vietnam (at  Binh Dinh province, Phu Yen province and Khanh Hoa province), whose endangered level is EN in the Vietnam Red Data Book (1996), a rare wood species of group II A, with very high use and economic values. Dalbergia annamensis  has many nodules containing nitrogen – fixing bacteria, special branches transformed into thorns and underground stems capable of vegetative reproduction.
